Belfast One BID, Destination CQ and Belfast Central Business District have launched a partnership with ISL Waste Management to improve the quality and cost of waste and recycling collections for city centre businesses. We want to make Belfast a cleaner, more sustainable and environmentally friendly city and YOU’RE PART OF IT!
The City Waste Reduction Initiative allows companies within the BID (Business Improvement District) areas to save up to 30% on their waste management costs.
Other benefits include streamlined collections, 24/7 at a time which suits you.
BID Waste Saving Scheme Objectives
- Reduce the level of waste
- Lower the impact of collections, including fuel emissions and traffic congestion
- Improve the efficiency and environmental impact of waste collection
- Target zero waste to landfill
- Deliver dramatic savings in waste collection charges
Specific targets include:
Reducing the cost of waste collection for at least 50% of Belfast BID, Destination CQ & Belfast Central Business District members by 2021.
Improving the frequency and reliability of waste collections in the BID area with:
- 7 day collections
- Early morning–late evening collections
- Dedicated vehicles and staff
- On-call trained staff and support vehicles
- Prioritisation of BID collections
- Robust communication systems between ISL and clients including online portal access
Providing specialist collection facilities for hazardous waste
Offering a consultancy service aimed at increasing recycling and cutting costs
Guaranteeing a dedicated customer service management system
Exceeding legislative and audit requirements by guaranteeing zero waste to landfill
Visibly improving the street environment and cleanliness of the BID areas
Added value to your Belfast BIDs / ISL partnership
Bins washed twice a year on request free of charge.
Damaged that can no longer be used will be replaced free of charge (capped at one per business within a 12 month period).
