ISL Waste Management recognised as Investor In Zero Waste for reducing waste sent to landfill
ISL Waste Management, Belfast are delighted to announce that it has been awarded a four star rating by zero waste recognition scheme, Investors in Zero Waste.
The awards ceremony on Thursday 08 December, hosted by BBC’s Political Correspondent Ben Wright, saw more than 40 businesses recognised for their progress towards Zero Waste to Landfill.
Winners celebrated with a sparkling drinks reception and were presented with their certificates and plaques by scheme partners Helistrat and WasteCare.
ISL are incredibly proud of this achievement and speaking after the event Barry Donaghy, Director of ISL Waste Management Ltd, had this to say:
“Zero waste to landfill is the guiding principle of our business and we have achieved significant savings and efficiencies implementing this for our own company and for businesses throughout Northern Ireland.”

Established in 2010, and now with over 500 members, The Investors in Zero Waste recognises and rewards the innovation and commitment of businesses, public authorities and third sector organisations who are striving to eliminate waste.
It’s been an exciting month for the ISL Waste Management, Northern Ireland team. Only two weeks ago it was announced that they had achieved gold in Business In The Community’s well regarded Northern Ireland ‘sustainability’ survey.
On 24th November they presented the Best Waste Reduction Project award at the UTV Business Eye Awards, in Belfast’s Waterfront Hall. The Henderson Group took first place, while Castle Court were highly commended.
The best Christmas present for ISL however, was the announcement that the company had been appointed as the ‘preferred supplier’ of waste management services to Belfast City Centre businesses, through the Belfast Bid scheme.
More than 750 companies operate within the Belfast Business Improvement District. They will each be eligible to save up to 30% on their commercial, recycling and food waste removal and solutions.
